Important rental information
Rental policies
A reservation deposit is money paid to hold your date. A Rental Security Authorization is a temporary credit-card hold for equipment-related charges — not a cash deposit.
Card hold
Rental Security Authorization
8OJ Audio Works places a Rental Security Authorization — a credit-card security authorization / pre-authorization — on the customer's card. It is not a cash deposit and is not a charge when initially authorized, but may temporarily reduce available credit. After the equipment is returned and inspected, any unused authorization is released.
Subject to the rental agreement, processor rules, and applicable law, the authorization may be used for documented damage, loss, theft, missing gear or accessories, extraordinary cleaning or remediation, late-return charges, and other charges expressly permitted by the rental agreement. It is not a cap on liability.

Cancellation
Because rental dates and equipment are reserved specifically for you, cancellation terms depend on how much notice we receive.
More than 30 days before the rental
Full refund of the reservation deposit.
15–30 days before
50% of the reservation deposit is retained.
Less than 15 days
The reservation deposit is retained.
Less than 72 hours
8OJ may charge the full rental amount, particularly when the date cannot reasonably be rebooked.
Late returns
We provide a one-hour grace period for returns. After that, additional charges may apply based on the rental rate and the length of the delay. Late returns can affect other customers' reservations, so please contact us as soon as possible if you're running behind.
Late-return charges should be reasonable and will not exceed the applicable next full day's rental rate without a specific agreement.
Outdoor & weather
Our professional audio equipment is not weatherproof. Outdoor rentals require adequate overhead shelter and protection from rain, precipitation, dripping or splashing water, standing water, and excessive moisture.
8OJ Audio Works may suspend, relocate, or terminate equipment operation when weather or site conditions create a reasonable risk of equipment damage or personal injury. Lightning and other severe weather may require immediate shutdown.
For equipment-only rentals, the customer is responsible for providing appropriate shelter and site conditions.
Customer insurance
Proof of insurance is not normally required for standard rentals. 8OJ Audio Works may require proof of insurance for certain rentals based on the equipment, venue, event, or other circumstances.
Optional equipment protection may become available in the future. Any such program would be subject to separate terms and coverage provided by the applicable insurer or program.
Cleaning
Normal cleaning is included with your rental. We don't nickel-and-dime customers for ordinary use. Extraordinary cleaning or remediation caused by spills, mud, smoke residue, excessive contamination, or similar conditions may be charged at the reasonable cost of remediation.
